Smobler represented Singapore’s tech start-ups at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, held from 23–26 June at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Maryland.

SelectUSA is the premier United States event for foreign direct investment promotion, connecting investors, companies, economic development organisations, industry experts and startups. It is hosted by US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, and the 2024 edition drew senior officials including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks.

Founder and CEO Loretta Chen attended with a delegation from Enterprise Singapore, the agency supporting Singapore’s growth as a hub for global trading and startups.

Chen also took part in Select Global Women in Tech, the programme Secretary Raimondo pioneered for international women founders and executives in emerging tech, and was selected to pitch alongside nine other international startups in the Open Tech category — companies from Sri Lanka, Colombia, Taiwan, Georgia, Germany, Ukraine, Indonesia and South Korea among them.

She additionally joined an Enterprise Singapore-moderated panel on innovation, alongside Yvonne Hao, secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development, and Best Haputpong, VP of the Singapore-based startup Igloo.
