Smobler’s founder and CEO recognised among the most inspirational women working in Web3.
Dr. Loretta Chen, founder and CEO of Smobler, was recognised as one of Unstoppable WOW3’s Most Inspirational Women of Web3 and AI in 2024. The awards were announced on 21 October at Singularity South Africa, one of the continent’s most prestigious tech events.
The Unstoppable Women of Web3 and AI initiative exists to equalise the playing field in emerging technologies by making women leaders’ achievements visible. Sandy Carter, COO of the organisation, framed the gap plainly: women are 51% of the global population and around 10% of all CEOs.
Under Chen’s leadership, Smobler has delivered a run of metaverse world-firsts, including a phygital wedding and a disability-led accessibility park — work that bridges traditional industries and blockchain rather than treating the two as separate audiences.
The recognition sits alongside her selection for the AWS Women Founders Program, UBS Project Female Founder, and a place among the Top 100 Women of the Future.
