Dr Loretta Chen

Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer

Dr Loretta Chen is a multifaceted and influential figure in the media, education, publishing, performing arts & cultural scene for over two decades.

She was the People's Choice for Nominated Member of Parliament and has been the International Consultant to the Kingdom of Bhutan since 2011.

She is a passionate advocate for social equity - challenging the status quo through artistic, literary and entrepreneurial avenues.  When the Metaverse came into play, Dr. Chen envisioned a unique opportunity to shape social narratives with technology.

She founded Smobler, a turnkey metaverse architect that takes brands, IPs and communities to the forefront of Web3, where diversity and accessibility is built right into its core IDEALS.

Today, Smobler is backed by The Sandbox, Brinc; supported by Enterprise Singapore and Info Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA).

Through her latest venture, Dr. Chen aims to create a Metaverse for Good to drive positive change, promote inclusivity and leverage emerging technologies to empower and inspire audiences across the globe.

Ruel Sarmiento

Co-Founder, Chief Metaverse Architect

Ruel is an architect, exhibition designer, graphic designer, comic book artist, animator, video editor, and game designer.

He worked at the Center for Int’l Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) for 3 years and have been involved in various international exhibitions such as Manila FAME, International Food Expo, E-Services, Hong Kong Filmart, Gulf Food Dubai and The World Expo.Ruel moved to Singapore in 2010 and managed modular and tent structure projects for the Singapore Grand Prix, Singtel, and The Ritz Carlton Hotel to name a few.

He worked for The Activation Group until 2014 and had technical design experience for various brands.
